Byfuglien’s Brutal Hit Leads To Lowry Fight

We all know Dustin Byfuglien is known for playing on a very angry edge and when you combine that with his abnormal strength on the ice, it can lead to some scary looking moments.
Such was the case Saturday night late into the first period against the Dallas Stars when Buff came in late to a typical post-whistle scrum and blasted Stars defenseman Connor Carrick into the boards.
Carrick thankfully stayed in the game and remained unhurt.
Amazingly, Byfuglien was only given two minutes for cross checking. He could have just as easily been given five and a game for such a dangerous “play”
The shenanigans led almost instantly to a fight between Adam Lowry and Brett Richie which truth be told was a pretty good scrap as far as fights go and hopefully let out a little steam between both plays as tempers were starting to rise quote a bit.
What’s your take on the hit? Could Byfuglien be hearing from the Department of Player Safety in the next day or so or has he gotten away with one with just a minor penalty?
