increasing abundance of defencemen with one-way contracts. Which bodies would

THE SCENARIO
With Zach Bogosian, Mark Stuart and
Toby Enstrom all returning to the Jets lineup this past week, Winnipeg has
experienced a bit of a logjam on their back-end.

As of Winnipeg’s last game, the six
defencemen that played together were, Ben Chiarot with Dustin Byfuglien,
Enstrom with Bogosian and Stuart and Jay Harrison. Not a bad looking set of

But with these six playing the last
three games, Adam Pardy and Paul Postma have since been scratched and had to
watch their team go 2-0-1 in their last three games.

It’s been noted that Pardy may be
nursing a bit of an injury during this span, but Postma who had played the
first 41 games of the season for the Jets proved that he was a valuable asset
when the team was battling injuries.

Finally, the Jets have two players on
injured reserve right now, Jacob Trouba (upper body,) who is slated to return
in February and Grant Clitsome (back,) who is out indefinitely. It is hard to
imagine that Trouba will not be back into the Jets lineup the moment he is
healthy. The same cannot be said about Clitsome.
