Mark Scheifele’s injury is not believed to be long-term, but his status for Monday’s game two against the Calgary Flames is up in the air.
Scheifele was injured Saturday night in game one against Calgary wherein Matthew Tkachuk finished a hit on the Jets’ forward and it appeared the latter’s skate cut Scheifele’s leg.
Going down on the ice in pain, Scheifele left the game and did not return. He was reportedly seen walking around the bubble in Edmonton wearing a walking boot.
According to TSN’s Sara Orlesky, he is being listed as doubtful for Monday’s game.
The fact the injury isn’t believed to be long term is tremendous news for the Jets and the hope is both he, and Patrik Laine, will be ready for the 1:30 p.m. game against the Flames Monday.
