The Winnipeg Jets have the benefit of rest, at least, as they face one of the most potent teams from a division that’s given them fits recently.
The Jets are the +125 home underdog while the Tampa Bay Lightning are the -145 away favorite with a 6.0-goal total on the NHL odds for Friday at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Winnipeg is 4-7 in its last 11 home games against Atlantic Division opponents and is also 1-3 as a home underdog this season. The Lightning, who were edged 3-2 by the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday, are 13-7 in their last 20 games when they played the previous day and are also 8-4 in their last 12 away games against the Western Conference. The total has gone UNDER at sports betting sites in five of Tampa Bay’s last six away games against Western teams.

Their power play is ranked 10th (21.2 percent) but their penalty killing unit is third-worst in the league at 29th (74.2).
Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck has a 21-13-4 record this season with a 2.57 goals-against average and .923 save percentage after his 41-save shutout against Vancouver on Tuesday. Hellebuyck has a 2.39 GAA and .934 save percentage over eight starts this season with two days’ rest.
Winnipeg is idle Saturday before visiting the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday to begin a stretch of three away games in four nights.
