There are some noticeable UNDER trends as the Winnipeg Jets take on an NHL bottom-feeder whom they have yet to defeat this season. The Jets are a -155 home favourite while the Los Angeles Kings are a +135 away underdog with a 6.0-goal total on the NHL odds for Tuesday at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
The Jets are 6-2 in their last eight home games against the Pacific Division with the total finishing UNDER seven times at online sports betting sites, and are also 9-3 in their last 12 games as a home favourite. The total has also gone UNDER in six of the Jets’ last nine games as a home favourite with a closing moneyline of -145 or deeper into minus money. The Kings are 4-8 in their last 12 away games as a +125 to +145 underdog, with the total finishing UNDER nine times.

Kings at Jets | OddsShark Matchup Report

The Kings are 21-33-5 after their 3-1 win against the Colorado Avalanche in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Saturday. They are 10-3-1 this season when playing with two days off since their last game, and also rank fourth in the 31-team NHL in five-on-five shot-attempt percentage (53.9 percent). However, the struggling Kings might also be in a state of flux since this is their first game since trading away right wing Tyler Toffoli, who scored all of their goals in the Colorado win.
Los Angeles are 30th in goals scored (2.46) and 22nd in goals against (3.14). The Kings have a 24th-ranked power play (16.5 percent) and 26th-ranked penalty-killing unit (75.6).
The two-day break should allow for the Kings to start No. 1 goalie Jonathan Quick, who has a 12-22-3 record with a 2.99 goals-against average and .897 save percentage this season. The Kings have won in only one of Quick’s last five starts.
The Jets are 30-25-5 as they fight for a playoff berth and will need to be opportunistic in a matchup where the total has gone UNDER in seven of the last eight meetings, according to the OddsShark NHL Database. The Jets, who are 23rd in five-on-five shot-attempt percentage (48.4 percent), have been getting solid contributions lately from right wing Blake Wheeler and left wing Kyle Connor, but desperately need No. 1 center Mark Scheifele to end an 11-game goal drought.
Overall, the Jets are 18th in goals scored (2.93) and 13th in goals against (3.00). The Jets have a 17th-ranked power play (19.6 percent) and 28th-ranked penalty-killing unit (75.3).
Connor Hellebuyck, who has a 25-18-5 record with a 2.70 goals-against average and .919 save percentage, is expected to start his fifth consecutive game in goal for Winnipeg.
The Jets visit the Ottawa Senators on Thursday in the first contest of a four-game, six-day road trip.
