JGD 22: Jets look to push 2 game win streak into 3 as they host Colorado

There is no cure for a road-trip from hell like a home stand against some weaker competition.
The Winnipeg Jets finish off their three game banquet in Winnipeg with the sweet dessert of a Patrick Roy coached team.

LINES

Provided by DailyFaceoff.com
WINNIPEG (10-9-2)

The Jets bonafide top line of Ladd’s Little Wheeler continues to role. The Jets finally started getting some secondary scoring once again, with the Mark Scheifele line putting up some points and Chris Thorburn scoring the game winning goal against the Vancouver Canucks.
With the Jets penalty issues as of late Adam Pardy stays in due to his ability to kill penalties better than Ben Chiarot or Paul Postma (or Mark Stuart).
With Ondrej Pavelec’s injury Michael Hutchinson takes the starters role and Connor Hellebuyck is called up. Jets fans will half to hold back their excitement though as Hellebuyck looks to be sitting on the bench; it is however likely the best goaltender tandem this franchise has ever carried.
COLORADO (7-12-1)
The Colorado Avalanche have quite the talent on the top line, which falls off a cliff thereafter. Nathan MacKinnon leads the Aves with 21 points in 20 games played. Interestingly Jarome Iginla places third in team scoring in both goals and points, but sits on the third line.
As we move to the Ave’s defence we see a list of names of the once-was’s and who-is-that’s. Tyson Barrie though has been an exceptionally underrated defender and already has 11 assists in 17 games played.
Varlamov has moved off IR and is expected to start. The netminder has struggled with a 3-6-1 record and 0.890 save percentage.

PREDICTIONS

Game Day Prediction: Jets win. That’s what I always predict.
Obvious Prediction: The Jets win the Corsi and scoring chance battle. Colorado sits at last in the NHL with a 44.5 per cent in Corsi after adjusting for score-effects. They also are tied with Ottawa for worst in the league with 46.1 per cent in scoring chance percentage.
Not So Obvious Prediction: The Winnipeg Jets announce trading Tyler Myers for Travis Hamonic right after the game is over.
