In a huge turn of events, it appears the Winnipeg Jets will be re-signing Jacob Trouba. More to come.
After holding out and officially requesting a trade in September, it was clear that Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff wasn’t going to budge on a deal that he didn’t feel had held adequate value coming back to the Jets organization.
It was clear after comments from hockey insiders that the Jets would be in a position where they were comfortable holding off and waiting for Trouba’s camp to budge.
The 22-year old is already a player who hold a huge impact on the ice. Last season, he was third on the Jets in time on ice per game playing 22:03. He trailed fellow right handers Dustin Byfuglien and Tyler Myers.
Trouba had been forced to play on the left side, and that was believed to be one of the reasons he had held out.
