Another strong week from NCAA prospects, a few CHL scratches, and unconditional waivers highlight the prospect update. Let’s check out how everyone performed in the prospect update.

CHL

Jansen Harkins added a goal and three assists this week, and is currently at an assist per game played. Harkins is now on a 7 game point streak with a goal and eight assists and has put up points in 14 of his last 15 games.
Matteo Gennaro and the Calgary Hitmen played a tiring 4 games in 5 days, but Gennaro came out of it with a pair of goals and three assists. In his 5th game of the week, Gennaro and the Hitmen were shut out by the Rebels. Gennaro and Stallard teamed up on this goal against the Silvertips last Tuesday.
Jordy Stallard put up his lone assist on Gennaro’s goal above. Stallard has been scratched in the past 3 Hitmen games, so must be dealing with an injury.
Michael Spacek scored a short-handed goal last Tuesday to tie the game in Swift Current. Spacek was an unfortunate -4 on Friday in a 7-2 loss as he saw his point streak end at 7 games, but picked up a pair of assists last night to start another one.
Logan Stanley added an assist on Sunday, scoring his 6th point. Stanley is on pace for a 24 point season, which would be 7 better than 2015-16. Stanley also defended teammate Cole Carter on Thursday which contributed to his 7 penalty minutes.
Luke Green was scratched on Friday in Acadie-Bathurst, but returned on Sunday. Green has been playing on the 3rd pairing recently for Saint John, behind a revolving door of defencemen in Bryson Michel, Chase Stewart, Oliver Felixson, and Bailey Webster. Two of which are left-handed playing on their off-side in front of right-handed Green.

USHL

Mikhail Berdin did not play this week. Sioux Falls has not played a game since the 11th, but will get back into action on Wednesday.

NCAA

CJ Franklin got back on the scoresheet this week with a goal and assist against Minnesota on Friday. He had an incredible 8 shots on goal. The entire team was held scoreless the next night, falling 1-0.
Tucker Poolman continues his fantastic junior season with a goal and two assists this week. North Dakota shut out struggling St. Cloud State twice (4-0, 3-0). Hopefully we get to see this shot live in Winnipeg next season.
Erik Foley scored a goal and three assists this week. With 13 points, Foley is only 6 points away from matching last year’s point total. He has points in 6 straight games and has been on the scoresheet for all but one game.
Mason Appleton and Michigan State had the week off, while Matt Ustaski and Jack Glover were held pointless in one game played each. Both Ustaski and Glover appear to have been healthy scratched for one game this week.

Overseas

Pavel Kraskovsky played two games but was not a factor in the scoring. He did not record a shot on goal and is playing 4th line minutes, averaging just over 11 minutes this week, but was 59% on the faceoff dot.
Sami Niku scored his 2nd of the season this week, an OT winner Tuesday night against SaiPa. He had 9 shots on goal over 4 games.
Jacob Cederholm played three games for IK Pantern, recording 2 shots and 2 penalty minutes for playing with a broken stick. Tsk, tsk. He is playing on the 2nd pairing with Chicago’s 5th rounder in 2014, Andreas Söderberg.

AHL

The Manitoba Moose played three games this week. A 4-1 win in Bakersfield, a 5-2 loss in Tuscon and a 1-0 OT loss to Iowa. A fourth game was to be played on the 19th, but was postponed after Tuscon captain Craig Cunningham collapsed on the ice. We hope to get an update soon that he is okay.
Jimmy Lodge had a goal and an assist in the 4-1 win. After a slow start, he has 3 points in his last 3 games. Julian Melchiori had an incredible 9 shots on goal on Friday and Nelson Nogier recorded the first two assists of his pro career.
JC Lipon, much like Lodge, had a slow start to the season. He had not scored in his first 7 games, but now has 5 points in 5 games.
Despite stopping 34 of 35 on Tuesday night, Eric Comrie and the Moose fell 1-0 in OT to the Iowa Wild.

ECHL

Axel Blomqvist was placed on unconditional waivers this week and has returned back home to Sweden to play with Allsvenskan’s Södertälje SK. I am sad to see him go, but I wish him the best!
Jamie Phillips played two games this week, a regulation loss and an OT loss. He stopped 23 of 25 on Wednesday in a 2-0 loss, and stopped 38 of 42 on Sunday in a 4-3 OT loss. Tulsa has seen a revolving door of goalies on tryouts to backup Phillips, and will be in tough to find a starting goalie if Phillips is called up for AHL action this season.
All statistics current as of Wednesday morning.
