Jets Nation Prospect Profile 2015: #10-06

The next five profiles in our prospect series have been completed, so let’s take a look.

Andrew Copp comes in at number 10, despite having the one of the best chances in making the Jets this fall. Copp was passed in his first draft eligible season due to focusing on Football. A switch in sports and then rocketing up Michigan’s depth chart caused this strong two-way centre to be drafted in the fourth round.

Eric Comrie tends to get ignored due to being overshadowed by Connor Hellebuyck. He is however a good enough that he would likely be the top goalie prospect on about two-thirds of the league’s teams. Comrie fell in the draft due to concerns with hip surgery but has come back stronger than ever. Comrie is not overly tall as far as goaltenders go, but makes up for it with his deadly combination of smart positioning and elite athleticism. 

Harkins was considered almost a guarantee for the first round by many. In fact, many 3rd party draft sites had the Jets drafting Harkins with the pick that they used to pick up Roslovic. Harkins is highly respected for his two-way game, and has the numbers behind him. There are some skeptical on Harkins scoring upside, although Harkins scored relatively well for being on such a low scoring team.

The Jets drafted Jack Roslovic with the first-round pick that came back from the Evander Kane and Zach Bogosian trade. The 6’2 Roslovic has skill with great skating, excellent vision and high-end IQ. His scoring pace soar after being placed on the USNDTP top line with Auston Matthews, leading some to think Matthews was driving Roslovic’s scoring. Still, Roslovic will be leaned on to stir the stick in Miami over the next four years which will give us a good look on what he brings.

Joel Armia was an elite goal scorer in Finish leagues relative to his age. There have been very few to score at the same level. Armia has struggled though transitioning to the North American game. He is one of the major contenders for a regular spot on the Jets and brings a tonne of skill with an impressive 6’3 frame.
