The Toronto Maple Leafs will be trying to turn the page on a shaky defensive performance while facing a tough road team from a division that poses difficulty to them.
The Maple Leafs are the -185 home favourite while the Winnipeg Jets are the +160 away underdog with a 6.5-goal total on the NHL odds for Wednesday at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Maple Leafs are 11-3 in their last 14 home games as a -180 to -210 moneyline favorite at betting sites with the total finishing OVER 11 times, but are only 2-8 in their last 10 home games against the Central Division.

The Jets are 11-5 in their last 16 away games against the Atlantic Division, with the total finishing OVER 10 times. The Jets are also 12-6 in their last 18 away games as a +140 to +170 moneyline underdog. The total has gone OVER in 12 of the last 15 games of this matchup.
The Jets, who are 23-16-4 overall, also visit the Boston Bruins on Thursday and have a 3-1 record this season when they are also playing the next day. The Maple Leafs are 24-15-5 this season and are 8-1-1 in their last 10 games in spite of a 6-4 loss against the Edmonton Oilers on Monday. Top-line center Auston Matthews scored during the game, but the John Tavares-Alex Kerfoot-William Nylander troika was the only line not to score for the Leafs, who overall are fifth in the NHL in five-on-five shot-attempt percentage (52.6 percent). The Leafs are also fifth in goals scored (3.59) but stand 21st in goals against (3.16). Their power play is ranked sixth (24.4 percent) and the penalty killing unit is ranked 26th (75.7).
Frederik Andersen has a 21-8-4 record with a 2.73 goals-against average and .915 save percentage despite allowing three goals on 16 shots against Edmonton on Monday. Andersen has a 2.26 GAA and .933 save percentage when playing with one day of rest.
Toronto has the next three days off before a road game against the Florida Panthers on Sunday.
