The Winnipeg Jets appear to be regressing defensively and in their fortunes as a road underdog ahead of a matchup with the NHL’s highest-scoring team. The Jets are the +165 underdog while the Colorado Avalanche are a -190 home favourite with a 6.0-goal total on the NHL odds for Tuesday at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
The Jets have had difficulty winning at the Pepsi Center in Denver, going 2-9 in their last 11 away games against the Avalanche with the total finishing UNDER seven times at sports betting sites. Winnipeg is 5-2 in its last seven games as an away underdog, but has lost the two most recent games in that sample. The Avalanche are 6-3 in their last nine home games against Central Division opponents.

Colorado and its Nathan MacKinnon-led attack had more than 40 shots on goal in each of their two recent outings to help move the Avalanche up to 16th in the NHL in five-on-five shot-attempt percentage (49.8 percent). Philipp Grubauer, Colorado’s No. 1 goalie, has a 10-8-3 record with a 2.81 goals-against record and .915 save percentage. The Avalanche have lost in his last four starts, but Grubauer actually has a 2.63 GAA and .925 save percentage so far this month.
The Jets are back home to host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday and then visit the Minnesota Wild on Saturday.
