It was announced this morning that defenceman Toby Enstrom underwent successful knee surgery to repair damage to his knee.
His knee has been ailing him for sometime, with Jets coach Paul Maurice speaking about the issue last week:
“Toby’s been dealing with an issue since November and he’s been able to get through it because of blocks of days off, If you can get a two-day block you can get a little better. It’s just getting worse and continues to get worse.
It marks the end of what’s been called a disappointing season for him. In 60 games this year, he has totalled only 14 points.
Enstrom has battled injury issues and personal issues all season which has played into his off-year.
In November, he took a leave of absence from the team to tend to family matters back home in Sweden.
In February, he underwent surgery to fix a lower-body injury.
In the beginning of March, he suffered a concussion after taking a hit from Tom Sestito.
