The Winnipeg Jets might be hard-pressed to end their home woes against a surging Vancouver Canucks team with a hot goalie.
The Jets are the -135 home favourite while the Vancouver Canucks are the +115 away underdog with a 6.5-goal total on the NHL odds for Tuesday at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Jets are 13-1 in their last 14 games against the Canucks, but that head-to-head history is tempered by an 0-6 record in their last six home games at Bell MTS Place. The Canucks are 5-6 in their 11 games as an away underdog at online betting sites. The total has gone UNDER in 10 of the Jets’ last 15 games as the favourite.

Canucks at Jets | OddsShark Matchup Report

The Canucks are 25-17-4, including an 8-2 record over their last 10 games. Top-line center Bo Horvat has 12 points over his last seven games and Elias Pettersson helms a strong second line for the Canucks, who are 20th in the 31-team NHL in five-on-five shot-attempt percentage (48.8 percent). Vancouver is 10th in goals scored (3.30 per game) and 17th in goals against (3.09). The Canucks have one of the league’s best power plays, ranked fifth (24.1 per cent), and the penalty killing unit ranks 15th (80.5).
It is reasonable to expect that Jacob Markstrom, who has a 17-12-3 record with a 2.76  goals-against average and .915 save percentage, will be in goal for the Canucks. Markstrom has a 1.99 GAA and .942 save percentage when he is starting with one day of rest.
The Jets are 24-18-4, but have just a 3-7 record over their last 10 games. Centres Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler along with wings Kyle Connor and Patrik Laine have scored at a reliable rate all season, but the Jets have defensive zone issues, allowing three or more goals in eight of their last 10 games. As a result, Winnipeg is 24th in five-on-five shot-attempt percentage (47.9 percent). Winnipeg is 17th in goals scored (3.00 per game) and 15th in goals against (3.02). The Jets have a respectable 11th-ranked power play (20.3 per cent) but penalty killing has been problematic all season as the unit ranks 30th (73.3).
Goalie Connor Hellebuyck has a 20-13-4 record with a 2.64 goals-against average and .920 save percentage after making 31 saves during a 1-0 loss against the Nashville Predators on Sunday.
The Jets will host the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday, before embarking on a three-game road trip that starts against the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday.
