It’s nearly the end of August, meaning there’s going to be some actual hockey very, very soon. Coming up quickly is the Young Stars Classic in Penticton, British Columbia between the Jets, Oilers, Flames, and Canucks.
The Jets announced their roster and schedule today for the tournament, which is set to begin on Sept. 7. That’s only a week-and-a-half away!
The roster will be highlighted by top prospects like Logan Stanley, 2016’s first round pick, and Michael Spacek, who enjoyed a breakout season with the Red Deer Rebels in 2016-17. Only two players from the Jets’ 2017 draft class, Leon Gawanke and Skyler McKenzie, will play in the tournament. 2017 first round pick Kristian Vesalainen’s season with HPK of the Finnish Elite League is set to begin in the next few weeks.
