The Winnipeg Jets have signed Luca Sbisa to a one-year contract.
The deal will see him earn $800,000.
Sbisa, 30, was claimed on waivers by the Jets in Oct. 2019 and has appeared in 44 games with the organization scoring two goals and 10 points.
A native of Ozieri, Italy, he has played in 548 NHL games scoring 113 points.
Sbisa struggled in both the offensive and defensive zone this past year. Offensively he contributed at a two percent rate below league average and defensively, he contributed at a five percent rate below league average, according to hockeyviz.com. He saw the majority of his time on the second pair last year, but may fare better playing less time on ice.
Nonetheless, the risk on this contract is very low.
