Winnipeg Jets hire Jamie Kompon to assistant coach position

The Winnipeg Jets announced the hiring of Jamie Kompon to the position of Assistant Coach. Kompon will work with fellow assistant coach Charlie Huddy, and under the supervision of Paul Maurice.
Kompon coached the Portland Winterhawks of the WHL the last two seasons, carrying a 77-54-13 record. The Winterhawks last season had a -63 shot differential, 15th in the 22 team league, but carried a +14 goal differential. The largest source of the difference was a 2nd best team save percentage.

Kompon would have familiarity with Chase De Leo and Nic Petan from coaching them for the 2014-15 season.
