Winnipeg Jets call up Chase De Leo for his NHL debut with Marko Dano sick

By Garret Hohl
Mar 20, 2016, 14:49 EDTUpdated:
The Winnipeg Jets called up Chase De Leo from the Manitoba Moose on emergency basis. This means that he’s called up due to a player being injured and will fill in for whomever that may be.
Marko Dano missed the pre-game skate and so it is speculated he is likely the individual hurt.
Editorial revision: It has been announced that Dano is sick with the same flu that recently took out Dustin Byfuglien.
De Leo was selected 99th overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 2014 draft. Due to his birthdate, De Leo was eligible to turn pro in his Draft+2 year and has played on the Moose as one of their top scorers.
The 5″10 forward has 16 goals, 9 primary assists, and 7 secondary assists over 64 games. His primary point per game production fifth on the Moose, after Nic Petan, JC Lipon, John Albert, and Scott Kosmachuk. Most of De Leo’s production has been generated on the power play and his even strength primary point production falls 12th on the Moose and 11th for forwards.
