Milestones in sports are always an added bonus when it comes to watching a sporting event live or on screen. You always want your team to win, but even if they don’t win you could still have a “moment” during the game that you can take away with you that was a positive. Last season was a season full of team and player milestones for the Winnipeg Jets, including Connor Hellebuyck’s 300th win, Mark Scheifele’s 300th goal and 800th point, and Kyle Connor’s 500th point just to name a few.
The Jets also reached the 100 points mark in franchise record time and set a franchise record with 56 wins and 116 points. Another thing about milestones is sports is that there is always something to look ahead to, especially prior to a brand new season. Here is a rundown of the upcoming career milestones for members of the 2025-26 Winnipeg Jets roster, starting from the top of the lineup with the most notable milestones that are within reach.
Jets 1st line
Kyle Connor almost became the 1st Jets 2.0 player to reach 100 points in a season last year, finishing with 97 points in 82 games. While Connor has quite a way to go to catch Blake Wheeler for 2nd in Jets 2.0 all time scoring, he will reach a trio of notable milestones this upcoming season. Connor needs 16 goals to reach 300 career goals, a feat that only approximately 40 current NHLers have reached. Connor is also going to reach 300 career assists (only 2 away) and he’s also just 18 points away from reaching 600 career NHL points.
Mark Scheifele was perhaps “Mr. Milestone” for the Jets last season, as he surpassed Blake Wheeler for the most points all time by a Jets 2.0 player. Scheifele also reached the 800 career point mark on the season, meaning it would take an outstanding 96 point season for him to reach 900 career points this season. Scheifele should reach 350 career goals this season (14 away) and he will most notably likely reach 500 career assists, as he sits just 32 away from this major milestone.
Gabriel Vilardi hasn’t played long enough yet in the NHL to be in the same category of milestones as Connor or Scheifele, but he does have a trio of “first” milestones coming up this season. Vilardi sits 10 goals away from 100 career goals, a notable first milestone for goal scorers as they progress in their careers. Vilardi is also just 15 assists from 100 career assists, and if you combine that with at least 10 goals on the season (25+ points), Vilardi will reach 200 career points.
Other upcoming milestones for Jets forwards
One of the newest Jets, Jonathan Toews, has achieved plenty of milestones already in his remarkable NHL career. Toews sits 28 goals away from 400 on his career, a milestone that likely won’t be achieved until 2026-27, but it’s worth keeping an eye on. Toews will however likely reach 900 career points in the 2025-26 season, as he sits just 17 points away from this major milestone.
Going through the rest of the Jets forward group for the 2025-26 season, here’s some other milestones that should be reached in the 2025-26 season. Vladislav Namestnikov needs just 1 assist for 200 in his career. Captain Adam Lowry needs 27 points to reach 300 career points, a milestone that only seven Jets 2.0 players have ever reached with the team. Nino Niederreiter is in a unique situation at this point in his career, as he has 240 goals and a matching 240 assists in 969 games. In the 2025-26 season, Niederreiter is set to reach the big 1000 career games played milestones, as well as these three notable career milestones: 250 goals, 250 assists and 500 points. There is likely a few other upcoming milestones that I missed, but these are just some of the milestones for Jets forwards to look forward to in the 2025-26 season.
Jets defence group and goalies
Josh Morrissey is on the verge of reaching 300 career assists (7 away), and most notably 400 career points (27 away) this season. Most of the other Jets defencemen have a way to go before reaching notable career milestones, but there is one more milestone of note when it comes to games played. Veteran defenceman Luke Schenn, who should have a spot in the Jets opening night roster, needs to play in 28 games to reach 1100 career games. That milestone has only been reached by approximately 250 players in the history of the NHL, making this a remarkable milestone in terms of longevity in his playing career.
Connor Hellebuyck continues to climb the all time wins list for NHL goalies. Last season he reached 300 career wins, and this season if (when) he gets 28 wins, that will put him at 350 career wins. If Hellebuyck (and the Jets) can win 40+ games this season and next season, Hellebuyck will reach 400 career wins before he reaches age 35, which would already put him 16th all time for wins as an NHL goalie. Winning is what Hellebuyck does best, and that 350th win will be a notable milestone to watch for in the 2025-26 season.
That covers most of the milestones that you should watch for from Winnipeg Jets players in the 2025-26 season. NHL milestones deserve to be recognized and celebrated, so be sure to follow along and keep track of them as the season goes on. Jets Nation will be sure to notify our social media when these milestones occur so we can all celebrate and reflect together.
