The Winnipeg Jets strength in their blueline has always been their amazing depth on the right side. Things look bleak for the playoff push though with Tyler Myers, Dustin Byfuglien, and Paul Postma all injured.
The Jets though may have two returning today, with one for sure:
This is great news for the Jets.
Sports Club Statistics (mostly wins and goals based) has the Winnipeg Jets sitting at about a 45% chance in making the playoffs. Micah McCurdy’s model at Hockey Stats (shot metric based) has the Jets at about a 75% chance in making the playoffs.
Either way you look at it, the Jets’ margin for error is very thin. The addition of Dustin Byfuglien and Tyler Myers helps improve the Jets odds.
Dustin Byfuglien has carried a 58.4 Corsi percentage and a +3.5 relative Corsi rating since the All-Star break.
Tyler Myers has carried a 51.2 Corsi percentage and a -4.4 relative Corsi rating since the All-Star break (excluding minutes playing for the Buffalo Sabres).
