The Winnipeg Jets have added some experience to their young defensive core in the AHL.
The 25-year-old MacWIlliam will be adding some veteran leadership to a very young defensive core likely including Julian Melchiori, Brenden Kichton, Josh Morrissey, Jan Kostalek, Brennan Serville, Aaron Harstad, and Peter Stoykewych.
MacWilliam has played in twelve NHL games, all of which were last season, where he accumulated two points and twelve penalty minutes. His underlying metrics include a 0.8 point per sixty pace, a 37.0 per cent Corsi, and a relative Corsi (team Corsi with player on-ice versus on the bench) of -7.51.
MacWilliam has played 117 AHL games, where he produced 16 points and 143 penalty minutes.
The left-shot defender is known for his very punishing, stay-at-home style defensive game. He has some ability to move the puck but is still limited in his ability with transitions.
