Matteo Gennaro was a 7th round draft pick in 2015 (203rd overall). Gennaro started the season with the WHL’s Prince Albert Raiders and was moved to the Calgary Hitmen at the trade deadline.
Gennaro scored 24 points (12 goals, 12 assists) in 42 games with the Raiders, and 19 points (6 goals, 13 assists) in 28 games with the Hitmen. Gennaro was held pointless in 5 playoff games.
Gennaro increased both his goal and assist totals over his draft year (16 goals, 15 assists). The centreman from St. Albert, AB recently turned 19 and will most likely be returned to the Hitmen for the 2016-17 season.
