Tonight at Enterprise Center the Jets will play their 78th regular season game of the 2025-26 NHL season. The Jets won a commanding 6-2 game on Monday against the Seattle Kraken. After the win the Jets hit the road for a one game trip tonight against the St. Louis Blues. The Blues have had a great run recently (post Olympic break) like the Jets, and they currently sit two points behind the Jets with 77 games played.
The Jets will battle against a team that is 6-2-2 in their last 10 games, and is one of four teams in the mix for the 2nd wildcard spot in the Western Conference. As of Thursday morning, the Jets are four points behind the Nashville Predators for the second wildcard spot with one game in hand. The 24th overall 34-31-12 Winnipeg Jets and the 25th overall 33-32-12 Blues will both be looking for a super important two points late in the season.
The Jets and Blues have met three times already earlier this regular season. The season series started back on December 17th, when the Jets lost 1-0. The Jets beat the Blues by two goals (3-1) in Winnipeg on January 20th, followed by a close 3-2 win over the Blues in Winnipeg on March 15th. All three matchups have been close games, and tonight the season series concludes in St. Louis, as the Jets look to win the season series three games to one.
The injury report for the Winnipeg Jets still has four names: Morgan Barron, Colin Miller, Gustav Nyquist, and Elias Salomonsson. Miller is still skating on his own, Nyquist is day-to-day, Barron is week-to-week, and Salomonsson continues to be in concussion protocol. The Blues dealt with some injuries earlier this season, but they currently have no players listed on their injury report. Torey Krug was previously ruled out for the season with an ankle injury.
Jets Projected Lineup
Connor – Scheifele – Iafallo
Perfetti – Lowry – Vilardi
Niederreiter – Namestnikov – Lambert
Koepke – Toews – Rosen
Morrissey – DeMelo
Samberg – Pionk
Fleury – Bryson
Hellebuyck
Comrie
Injured: Morgan Barron, Elias Salomonsson, Gustav Nyquist and Colin Miller
The unconfirmed starting goalie is Connor Hellebuyck (22-21-11), who will very likely start four out of five of these remaining games in the regular season. The Jets lineup appears to be without any changes (from last game), as the Jets seem to be sticking with their latest combinations after Niederreiter and Namestnikov re-entered the lineup. As always, there could be some late announced lineup changes by the Jets prior to the game, so make sure to stay tuned to the Jets official X/Twitter account for any late lineup additions or changes prior to puck drop.
Blues Projected Lineup
Holloway – Thomas – Snuggerud
Drouin – Dvorsky – Kyrou
Neighbours – Suter – Berggren
Toropchenko – Finley – Buchnevich
Broberg – Mailloux
Lindstein – Parayko
Fowler – Tucker*
Hofer
Binnington
Injured: *Tyler Tucker (questionable)
The Blues lineup features several young players in prominent roles, and has added some new names at the trade deadline. Looking at the Blues’ player stats through 76 games, Robert Thomas leads the way with a very solid 57 points in 59 games. Joel Hofer is the unconfirmed starting goalie. In his third full season with the Blues as the “1B” behind Jordan Binnington, Hofer is very likely having his best season overall. Hofer has a 21-13-5 record with a 2.58 GAA and a .909 SV% and an impressive 6 shutouts. The Blues aren’t a high scoring team this year, and their goaltending down this stretch is a big reason why they’ve seen more wins in the second half of the season.
Jets player to watch: Mark Scheifele
Tonight the player to watch from each team will be a talented forward who leads their team in points, and both of these players have nine points in their last five games. Mark Scheifele recorded his 900th career point last game with a three assist performance. In 77 games, Scheifele leads the Jets in scoring with 34 goals and 63 assists for 97 points. With three points in the next five games, Scheifele will become the first Jets 2.0 player to ever record 100 points in a regular season. Scheifele continues to do whatever he can to help the Jets stay in the playoff race, and you can expect another big game from him tonight against this Central Division opponent.
Blues player to watch: Robert Thomas
After escaping the trade deadline as one of the top potential trade targets, Thomas has been on a roll for the Blues down the final stretch of the regular season. In 59 games, Thomas has 22 goals and 35 assists for 57 points. The Blues aren’t a team that have many high scoring players, but Thomas is the exception to that as regular point producer on this team. The 20th overall pick from the 2017 NHL draft will be the player the Jets need to watch if the Blues get a powerplay, as he’s picked up 13 points on the man advantage this season.
Puck drop in St. Louis, Missouri is set for just after 7:00 pm CDT. Tonight’s game will be another almost “must win” for the Jets, who will be trying to stay in the battle for the 2nd wildcard spot with just one week left in the regular season. Stay tuned here at Jets Nation for a recap of the action, as the Jets look to pick up another huge win on the road to keep their slim playoff odds alive for another day.
