1st goal of the night goes to the Coyotes on the PP as a clearing pass doesn't clear anything and Galchenyuk scores.

JNGD.S8.G82 Recap: The Jets Secure 2nd In Central With A Win In Arizona

In a week where the Jets have seen several canceled practices, a players only meeting and the loss of first place in central, tonight’s game against Arizona will be the deciding factor of home ice advantage against St. Louis.
First Period
Minutes into the period, Perreault gets an interesting tripping call in an effort to stay onside. On the power play, Blake Wheeler attempts to clear the puck from the zone, but instead passes it to Galchenyuk who puts Arizona on the scoreboard first.
With just under five minutes remaining, Kyle Connor speeds up the side, behinds the net and hands it over to Mark Scheifele who nets his 38th goal of the season and setting a new career high of 83 points.
A fantastic rush by Kyle Connor and finished off by Mark Scheifele. The #NHLJets tie things up!
The period ends with shots on goal tied at 6-6, and Nik Ehlers visibly in pain while on the bench.
Second Period
The second period starts off significantly better for the Jets, and Ehlers is back for his regularly scheduled shift, so whatever was ailing him seems to have gone away for now. At 17:25, Par Lindholm tries a wrap around and misses but attempts the rebound, and while he whiffs on it, Trouba is right there to scoop it up and get the Jets’ second goal of the evening. This is Trouba’s 8th goal of the season, and Lindholm’s first point as a Jet.
#NHLJets take a 2-1 lead thanks to Jacob Trouba.. And Par Lindholm gets his first point as a Jet!
Patrik Laine crosschecks Lawson Crouse, takes a penalty and sends Arizona into their second power play. With just over a minute left in their power play, OEL gets an interference call on Bryan Little and sets up the game with 1:12 of some good old fashion 4 on 4 hockey! Arizona’s power play before the 4 on 4 nets them a single shot on net. In the dying seconds of the Jet’s power play, Kyle Connor fires a pass from Wheeler and Scheifele into the net, giving the Jets some breathing room with a score of 3-1. This is Connor’s 34th goal of the season, and Blake Wheeler ties his career high for points with his 71st assist of the year.
KFC gets his 34th of the season! #NHLJets lead 3-1
The Jets get their second power play of the game when Demers trips Kulikov. Calvin Pickard was not ready for the onslaught that was he was about to face, Nik Ehlers gets his 21st goal of the year making it 4-1 Jets.
Third Period
16:31 into the period, Brad Richardson scores his 19th of the season, making it 4-2.
Coyotes second goal. Myers gets caught on a bit of a pinch, no one was backing him up and Kulikov has trouble defending anything there. 4-2 Jets.
The Coyotes picked up the pace in the third and Hellebuyck saw a lot more action, however he made some key saves in attempt to keep the Jets in the lead. But being snowed, then slashed in addition to some contact within the blue paint, Arizona scores their third goal. Winnipeg challenges the goal and Toronto confirms that there was goaltender interference.
A slash, a bump... Pretty clear cut interference and the two goal lead remains.
The game gets finished up with Dustin Byfuglien mauling Hinostroza after the Coyotes forward gives him a meaty two handed slash. Hinostroza immediately turtles, not wanting to face the wrath of a manbear, but still receives a few good punches before Chiarot feels bad and drags him to safety. The Jets win with a score of 4-2 and secure home ice advantage over the St. Louis Blues.
Don't poke the bear. #NHLJets
