Schlossman was first on the news, with TSN’s Gary Lawless later confirming the deal.
According to Lawless, the deal is a one-year ELC for $1.775 million (salary and bonuses) with the contract kicking in next year. He will be a group 2 free agent at the end of his deal, which means he is a RFA with arbitration rights.
His AHL salary will be $70,000.
Poolman just wrapped up his third year with the Fighting Hawks, scoring 20 goals and 52 assists for 72 points in his 118 NCAA games. This past season, he scored a career-high 30 points in 38 games.
The right-shot defenceman was a 2013 5th round selection by the Jets.
From the Free Press:
UND’s top defenceman was playing between 25 and 30 minutes per game and was the fourth-highest scoring blue-liner in the NCHC. He finished the season with seven goals, 30 points, 14 penalty minutes and a plus-18 rating in 38 games. The 6-4, 217-pound Poolman is a junior with one year of college eligibility remaining. He stayed at UND for the 2016-17 season in order to play with his younger brother Colton, a freshman defenceman with the Fighting Hawks.
Poolman is scheduled to have surgery on Friday. My understanding is he will have both his shoulders operated on #nhljets
