Two Manitoba Moose forwards are making their return to the big club.
The Winnipeg Jets announced this morning that they have recalled forwards Parker Ford and Danny Zhilkin from their AHL affiliate on emergency conditions.
Ford, 25, has appeared in 11 games for Winnipeg this season, recording one assist and four penalty minutes. He made his NHL debut last season and scored in his first game. The Wakefield, Rhode Island native recorded one goal in three games.
This season with Manitoba, Ford has accumulated six goals and 15 assists for 21 points in 45 games while also adding 22 penalty minutes. The undrafted centreman is in his fourth season with the Moose.
Zhilkin, 22, the Moscow, Russia native, made his NHL debut on Jan. 8 against Edmonton and has appeared in four games for Winnipeg, recording no points while posting a plus-two rating. He was drafted 77th overall in the third round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft by Winnipeg.
Emergency recalls usually mean that the team does not have the necessary 12 forwards available to dress. Forwards Vladislav Namestnikov and Nino Niederreiter are both out with lower-body injuries, while Morgan Barron is unavailable due to a concussion.
We’ll see how the lineup shakes out tomorrow as the Jets travel to the Mile High City to face the Colorado Avalanche for the second straight game at 6:00 p.m. CT on Sportsnet West.
Winnipeg currently sits five points out of the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference with 10 games remaining in the regular season.
