The Winnipeg Jets entered free agency with a splash! They freed up over $4 million in cap room by trading away Steve Mason, Joel Armia and two picks. They then were unable to use that cap space effectively on July first by losing the Paul Stastny sweepstakes. The Jets’ only signing was AHL goalie Laurent Brossoit.
