The 2014-15 NHL season isn’t over quite yet, but Winnipeg Jet fans are starting to mark their calendars for the 2015-16 season. The Jets announced their preseason schedule for next season on Friday with four games being played at the MTS Centre.
The Jets will kickoff their exhibition slate on Tuesday September 22 with a home date against the Minnesota Wild. The next night, the Jets will travel up the Yellowhead Highway to face the Edmonton Oilers at the Alberta capital.
The Oilers will return the favour two nights later in what might be the most anticipated preseason tilt in Winnipeg. It is possible that the next generational superstar, Connor McDavid, could make his first appearance in Winnipeg that night. (I know he hasn’t been drafted by the Oilers yet, but he will be.)
The Jets go back on the road on September 27 to face the Wild for their second meeting of the preseason. Jets fans won’t have to wait long for the next home game as the Ottawa Senators will make an appearance on September 28.
The Jets will conclude their preseason duties with a home-and-home series against the Calgary Flames. The first game will take place on October 1 at the MTS Centre. The return battle will be two nights later at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The NHL regular season schedule will be released on a later date.
