The Winnipeg Jets return home for a three-game homestand, beginning with a visit from the Seattle Kraken at Canada Life Centre. The Jets will debut their Heritage jerseys for the first time this season.
Winnipeg is looking to keep pace with last season’s incredible 15-1-0 start, sitting at 5-1-0 and riding a five-game winning streak heading into tonight’s matchup. The Jets earned a 2-1 victory Monday night in Calgary, rallying from a 1-0 third-period deficit. On a power play, Neal Pionk’s point shot was tipped home by Jonathan Toews, his first NHL goal in 30 months, to tie the game. Later in the period, Mark Scheifele buried his team-leading seventh goal of the season, the eventual game-winner. Connor Hellebuyck was stellar once again, stopping 32 of 33 shots for a .970 save percentage.
Seattle, meanwhile, has been a pleasant surprise early on. Few expected much from the Kraken this season, yet they’ve posted a 3-2-2 record and have shown flashes of consistency. They’re coming off a 4-1 loss to the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night, where Jaden Schwartz scored the lone goal and Matt Murray turned aside 30 of 33 shots (.909 SV%).
Tonight marks the first of three meetings between these two clubs this season. The Jets will visit Seattle on November 13th, and the Kraken will return to Winnipeg to close out the season series on April 6th.
Morgan Barron missed Wednesday’s practice and remains day-to-day, per Scott Arniel. His status will be monitored ahead of puck drop.
This is also a back-to-back scenario for the Jets, so we’ll see whether Connor Hellebuyck gets the nod again or if Eric Comrie draws into his second start of the season.
Projected lineup (subject to change):

Niederreiter – Toews – Vilardi
Iafallo – Namestnikov – Lambert
