The Winnipeg Jets will look to extend their winning streak to three games this evening as they welcome the New York Islanders to Canada Life Centre to close out their five-game homestand.
For the first time since mid-November, the Jets earned their second straight win on Sunday, defeating the New Jersey Devils 4-3 in regulation. Alex Iafallo (8), Jonathan Toews (5), Gabriel Vilardi (18), and Tanner Pearson (6) found the back of the net, while Connor Hellebuyck made 24 saves as Winnipeg improved to 17-22-5.
The Islanders were in St. Paul, Minnesota on Saturday, where they edged the Wild 4-3 in overtime. Simon Holmstrom scored the game-winner for his 12th of the season, while Jean-Gabriel Pageau (7), Holmstrom (11), and Casey Cizikas (6) also contributed offensively. Ilya Sorokin stopped 33 shots as New York improved to 25-15-5 and extended its point streak to four games.
Winnipeg and New York last met on Thanksgiving Monday in Long Island, where the Jets earned a 5-2 victory. Tonight’s contest wraps up the season series between the two clubs.
The Jets made a pair of roster moves Monday, placing defenceman Colin Miller on injured reserve retroactive to Jan. 11 and recalling 24-year-old defenceman Isaak Phillips from the Manitoba Moose. Phillips could make his Jets debut on the third pairing, likely playing on his off side on the right and potentially alongside Logan Stanley, unless Luke Schenn draws back into the lineup.
Morgan Barron has missed the last two games due to health-related concerns, and his status for tonight will likely be determined following the morning skate.

Projected lineup:

Connor – Scheifele – Iafallo
Perfetti – Toews – Vilardi
Niederreiter – Lowry – Namestnikov
Koepke – Zhilkin – Pearson
Morrissey – DeMelo
Samberg – Pionk
Stanley – Schenn
