The Winnipeg Jets are back in action Friday night to complete the second half of their back-to-back, facing the Calgary Flames for the second time this week at Canada Life Centre.
Winnipeg was handed a 3-0 loss by the Seattle Kraken on Thursday to open their three-game homestand, snapping their five-game winning streak. After making 27 saves in the loss, Connor Hellebuyck will get the night off as Eric Comrie is expected to start in goal.
The Flames, meanwhile, were in action Wednesday against the Montreal Canadiens, falling 2-1 in overtime on a Mike Matheson game-winner. Adam Klapka scored Calgary’s lone goal, while Dustin Wolf stood tall with 26 saves in the loss. The Flames enter this one with a 1-6-1 record and are desperate to find some momentum.
These teams last met Monday night in Calgary, where the Flames carried a 1-0 lead into the third period before Jonathan Toews scored his first as a Jet on the power play to tie the game. Mark Scheifele then buried the go-ahead goal with under five minutes remaining, securing Winnipeg’s fifth straight victory.
The season series will wrap up November 15 at Scotiabank Saddledome.
There are no expected lineup changes besides Comrie getting the start between the pipes, though Scott Arniel could look to tweak the forward lines.
Projected lineup (subject to change):
Connor – Scheifele – Vilardi
Niederreiter – Toews – Nyquist
Iafallo – Namestnikov – Lambert
Koepke – Barron – Pearson
Morrissey – DeMelo
Stanley – Pionk
Fleury – Schenn
Hellebuyck
Comrie
