The Winnipeg Jets will head out on the road for a quick one-game trip to St. Paul, Minnesota, on Tuesday night to take on the Wild at Grand Casino Arena. Winnipeg will be continuing to rock their Heritage Blue jerseys, while Minnesota will wear their white 25th anniversary uniforms.
Winnipeg (6-3-0) wrapped up its three-game homestand Sunday with a 3-2 regulation loss to the Utah Mammoth. Dylan DeMelo and Mark Scheifele scored for the Jets, while Josh Morrissey recorded his 300th career assist on Scheifele’s tally. Connor Hellebuyck made 29 saves in the defeat. The Jets went 1-2-0 during the homestand and will look to bounce back tonight.
Minnesota (3-5-2) is coming off a 6-5 overtime loss in a wild matchup against the San Jose Sharks on Sunday night. Kirill Kaprizov and Brock Faber each recorded three assists, while Jesper Wallstedt stopped 19 shots in the losing effort.
Tonight marks the first of four meetings between the Central Division rivals. The teams will meet again in Winnipeg on Nov. 23 and Dec. 27, and back in St. Paul on Jan. 15.
The Jets were outworked for much of their homestand, particularly by Seattle and Utah, and will need to ramp up their pace and stay disciplined tonight. The Wild, eager to snap their three-game losing skid, will be looking to feed off home ice and take down a familiar rival.
