Tonight at American Airlines Center the Jets will play their 75th regular season game of the 2025-26 NHL season. The Jets won early in overtime 4-3 on Tuesday against the Chicago Blackhawks, and now the Jets will continue their four game road trip against the Dallas Stars. The Stars are one of just two teams in the league to have officially clinched their spot in the playoffs before the month of April.
The Jets will battle against a team that is 3-5-2 in their last 10 games, but also a team that’s sitting 4th overall in the league standings despite this rough stretch. After last night’s games, the Jets are two points behind the Los Angeles Kings for the second wildcard spot, with the Jets one of five teams within four points of the Kings. The 25th overall 32-30-12 Winnipeg Jets will be looking for a big two points on this Thursday night.
The Jets and Stars met three times already earlier this regular season. The season series started back on October 9th, when the Jets lost by one goal. The Jets lost to the Stars by one goal again in Winnipeg on December 9th, followed by an overtime loss against the Stars in Dallas on February 2nd. All three matchups have been very close games, and tonight the season series concludes in Dallas as the Jets look to avoid getting swept four games to none in this regular season matchup.
The injury report for the Winnipeg Jets still has four names: Morgan Barron, Colin Miller, Nino Niederreiter, and Vladislav Namestnikov. Miller is still skating on his own, but none of these four players are likely to return to the lineup in the regular season, with the exception of Barron if he clears concussion protocol. The Stars currently have seven players listed on their injury report. Recently acquired Tyler Myers is day-to-day, five different forwards have various timelines which likely won’t be before the regular season ends, and Tyler Seguin is out for the rest of the season and playoffs.
Jets Projected Lineup
Connor – Scheifele – Iafallo
Perfetti – Lowry – Vilardi
Koepke – Toews – Lambert
Rosen – Zhilkin – Ford
Morrissey – DeMelo
Samberg – Pionk
Bryson – Salomonsson
Hellebuyck
Comrie
Injured: Morgan Barron, Nino Niederreiter, Vladislav Namestnikov and Colin Miller
The unconfirmed starting goalie is Connor Hellebuyck (20-20-11), who will likely start six or seven of these remaining eight games in the regular season. The Jets lineup appears to be without any changes (from last game), as the Jets seem to be sticking with their recent changes for this final stretch of the regular season. As always, there could be some late announced lineup changes by the Jets prior to the game, so make sure to stay tuned to the Jets official X/Twitter account for any late lineup additions or changes prior to puck drop.
Stars Projected Lineup
Benn – Johnston – Rantanen
Robertson – Duchene – Bourque
Erne – Hryckowian – Blackwell
Back – Hyry – Hughes
Lindell – Heiskanen
Harley – Lundkvist
Bichsel – Lyubushkin
Oettinger
DeSmith
Injured: Tyler Seguin, Radek Faksa, Roope Hintz, Sam Steel, Nathan Bastian, Michael Bunting and Tyler Myers
The Stars lineup features a mix of talented veterans and some call ups from the AHL while the lineup (especially the forwards) deal with multiple injuries. Looking at the Stars’ player stats through 75 games, Jason Robertson leads the way with an impressive 89 points. Jake Oettinger is the unconfirmed starting goalie. In his fifth full season with the Stars as a starter, Oettinger has had a pretty positive season even without looking at the Stars record. Oettinger has a 29-12-6 record with a 2.70 GAA and a .897 SV% and 2 shutouts. Oettinger always seems to step his game up come playoff time, so he’ll be a tough test in goal for the Jets tonight in Dallas.
Jets player to watch: Brad Lambert
Tonight the player to watch from each team will be a young forward looking to make their mark in different parts of the lineup. Brad Lambert is still only 22 years old, and he’s starting to look fully ready for the NHL after this stretch of games with him in the lineup. After just playing in six games prior to this season, Lambert has appeared in 17 games this season. In those games he has just 2 goals and 3 assists for 5 points, but he’s been playing limited minutes on either the third or fourth line. Bottom six minutes is better than no NHL minutes for Lambert at this point in his career, so watch for him to try to step up on the scoresheet to provide some much needed depth down this final stretch.
Stars player to watch: Jason Robertson
Jason Robertson is somewhat quietly having another dominant season with the Stars. Robertson is one of those superstars that isn’t the flashiest, but continues to remain consistent on a nightly basis. In 75 games this season, Robertson has scored 40 goals and 49 assists for 89 points. This Stars team has talent in all parts of the lineup, and Robertson has benefited from having talented linemates throughout the season. Robertson had a somewhat quiet playoffs last season, so watch for him to look to continue his productivity heading into the first round of the playoffs which starts in a few weeks.
Puck drop in Dallas, Texas is set for just after 7:00 pm CDT. Tonight’s game will be another tough test for the Jets, who will be trying to stay in the run for a wildcard spot with only two weeks left in the regular season. Stay tuned here at Jets Nation for a recap of the action, as the Jets look to pick up another huge win on the road to improve their playoff odds with the playoff race heating up more every day closer to the playoffs.
