Draft 2016: Jets select Mikhail Berdin at 157th overall

By Garret Hohl
Jun 25, 2016, 12:44 EDTUpdated:
The Winnipeg Jets select goaltender Mikahail Berdin at 157th overall from the Russian Developmental Team Program.
Here are some areas Berdin was ranked as noted on eliteprospects:

Berdin is an intriguing prospect as he dominated both the MHL, the Russian junior league, and was arguably the best goaltender at the World Junior A Challenge. Scouts were excited to see Berdin at the U18 tournament, but was one of the suspended players from the Russian meldonium scandal.
At 6’2 Berdin is not overly large for the modern goaltender, but he does have some size. He is a fairly reflexive goaltender and can play fairly dynamically at times. His play style would be more comparable to Eric Comrie rather than Connor Hellebuyck, although he’s even more extreme in flash than even Comrie.
