Draft 2016: Jets select Luke Green at 79th overall

By Garret Hohl
Jun 25, 2016, 11:19 EDTUpdated:
The Winnipeg Jets select Luke Green 79th overall from the Saint John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL. The 79th pick came as part of the swap of picks when the Jets traded their 22nd and 36th overall in search of Logan Stanley.
Luke Green was ranked pretty high by many locations:

Green put up 35 points in 61 games for the Sea Doggs. His SEAL-Adjusted Scoring was 14th highest for North American defenders, and 6th for those above six feet tall.
The right-handed shooting defender is a good skater, mobile in all four directions, and can move the puck well. He isn’t undersized at 6’1, but won’t dominate players with his size either.
