Kyle Connor named NHL’s Third Star of the Week

High flying rookie Kyle Connor was named the NHL’s Third Star of the Week today. Connor had a rather eventful week, putting up 6 points (4 goals, 2 assists) in his last 3 games. Kyle Connor became Kyle Clutch, as two of his 4 goals were overtime winners, helping the Jets take down Los Angeles…

JNGD.55 Recap: Blues Spoil Scheifele’s Return

Well, they were bound to have a bad game at some point, right? Unfortunately, the return of Mark Scheifele was a non-factor, as the Jets were outplayed for the bulk of this one. After falling behind 3-0 early in the 2nd period, the Jets struck back with a fantastic play by Jack Roslovic to get…

JNGD.55 Flight Plan: Welcome Back Scheifs!

The day has finally arrived! Mark Scheifele is returning for tonight’s game against the Blues. While any recovery from injury is appreciated right now, this addition is especially nice. However, the injury bug hasn’t nearly found it’s way out, as the Jets currently have 7 out with injury (Hendricks, Hutchinson, Lowry, Mason, Matthias, Tanev, and…

JNGD.50 Flight Plan: Finishing the First Half

Well, here we are. We have officially reached the end of the so-called “First Half”. After tonight’s game with the Ducks, the NHL will take a few days off for the All-Star Game. Both teams are coming off wins, and are looking to start the break on a high note.

JNGD.49 Flight Plan: When Is Shark Week?

With last night’s 1-0 win over the Canucks, the Jets closed out their home first half before the All-Star break so we can now take a look back at what that first half brought us. When you hear the nickname “The Friendly Confines”, most people envision the ivy-covered walls of Wrigley Field, the historic home…

JNGD.48 Instant Recap: Jets Complete Canuck Sweep

It was certainly a low scoring affair tonight in Downtown Winnipeg, as the Jets defeated the Canucks 1-0. The scoring was short and sweet, and took place early in the game. Patrik Laine registered his 21st goal of the season in the first period, and the game subsequently went scoreless for the remainder. Flashy or…

JNGD.46 Recap: Wildly Unfortunate Loss

This was most certainly not the best game for the Jets. For the majority of the game, the Wild held the momentum, out chanced, and outplayed the Jets. While it looked as if the Jets could muster up some offense in the 3rd, it wasn’t enough as the Wild continued to push, and stretched their…

JNGD.46 Flight Plan: Twin City Showdown

The Jets fly into the Twin Cities, and have a good opportunity to bounce back from a tough loss in Chicago last night. Minnesota is one of those teams who is hanging around in the Central, and keeps moving in and out of a wildcard spot. You know they would love to make up some…

JNGD.45 Recap: Chances Come Too Little, Too Late

Certainly not the best game we’ve seen, but you can’t win them all. Chicago seemed to know exactly what the Jets wanted to do, and blocked up the lanes to prevent it. While the Jets picked it up in the latter part of the third period, the Blackhawks held on to win 2-1.
