Mark Scheifele had a hell of a week and the NHL recognized it. After scoring four goals and three assists over four games, Scheifele has been named the NHL’s second star of the week.

Scheifele scored two goals and had two assists in a big win over the Blues on Monday, he had a goal in both of Winnipeg’s two losses to the Leafs, and he had an assist in the team’s win over Detroit. Not bad. Not bad at all.
Scheifele is up to six goals and six assists over 12 games on the season, which puts him at a point-per-game pace for the third year in a row. Though he doesn’t get talked about enough by national media, Scheifele has evolved into one of the game’s best offensive players.
The Jets will head to Finland for back-to-back games against Aleksander Barkov and the Florida Panthers in Helsinki. After that, they’ll have a week off before returning to action with a four-game homestand.
