Winter storm Stella has blown into the Northeastern part of the United States and Canada bringing with it 15 to 20 inches of snowfall as well as high winds and dangerous traveling conditions which has shut down hundreds of flights and schools… And a Winnipeg Jets game.
Tonight’s game between the Winnipeg Jets and the New Jersey Devils that was scheduled to start at 6 PM CST has been postponed due to the severe winter conditions. The game has been rescheduled to be played on March 28th in New Jersey which is in the middle of what was going to be a three day break for the Jets between home games against the Vancouver Canucks and Anaheim Ducks. Now the Jets get to enjoy some extra travel time.

The Jets did manage to make it into New Jersey and check into their hotel last night at around 1 AM CST. Now they’ll hang around for a bit and probably rent some dog sleds to get out to Brooklyn to play the Islanders on Thursday.
This situation doesn’t exactly help out New Jersey either as it will extend the run of a game every other night the Devils will “enjoy” over the next two weeks starting with a back to back set against the Flyers and Penguins. In total the Devils will play 8 games in 13 nights over that span.
