It was announced today that the Winnipeg Jets have placed forward Alex Burmistrov on waivers.
In 23 games this season, Burmistrov has registered only two assists and no goals for the Jets. The 25-year old former Thrashers’ 8th overall pick has struggled to find consistency in the NHL since returning from Ak-Bars in the KHL. Burmistrov spent two years playing in Russian from 2013-15 before returning to the Jets for the 2015-16 season, a year in which he posted seven goals and 14 assists for 21 points.
Burmistrov is in the final year of his two-year contract with the Jets and will become a restricted free agent on July 1st, 2017.
