  • The GREAT Walter White

The Sharks finally look like cup contenders….with pretty much the same team that has underperformed for the last 5 years,,,,what possibly could have changed…?

    • Gary Empey

The big change for the Sharks is the deadline trade for Roman Polak and Nick Spaling. Two defensive players that keep the goals against under control. An important, though often overlooked, aspect of winning the game. Both of these guys are getting plenty of minutes on the ice. Both are great on the penalty kill.

They are not going to get you many goals but they are worth their weight in gold when the other teams top line hits the ice.

      • Canoe Ride 27.1

Lol. They seem extra angry lately. Why is that?

You think it’s based in fear? Fear of their dismal outlook. Coach fired, goalies suck, building stinks, scared of Connor, etc.

“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.” – Yoda

  • Azim

This will be the year everything turns around for the Oilers (cue Groundhog Day theme song).

Fun fact: The St. Louis Blue have missed the playoffs a total of eight times in their 49-year history (five of which came in a six year period earlier this century). Your heroes in orange and blue meanwhile have missed the playoffs more in the last decade alone.

  • The Last Big Bear

lol @’Oilers fans chirping about other teams’ coaches and their staying power…

How has Edmonton been doing with the FOUR successive coaches you’ve had since Hartley came on board?

Absolute garbage, you say? Utter humiliation?

Seriously, oilers chirping about other teams’ coaches is like them chirping about other teams being unable to make the playoffs after picking 1st overall. Or, at least it would be, if the Oilers weren’t the only team in the league who hasn’t made the playoffs since picking 1st overall. Even ATLANTA made the playoffs after picking Kovalchuk… coached by Bob Hartley, you may recall, the only coach to ever drag that team to the post-season.

    • The Last Big Bear

Oh, you should have heard me laugh when Scrivens was scraping Oilers jerseys off the ice.

      Years of utter domination.

Pasting you guys for 8 goals.

Watching your dudes get boo’ed off their own ice.

Right up to the last ever Battle of Alberta in Rexall, when the Flames just straight up embarrassed a pathetic and lackluster Oilers lineup that included Connor McMuffin, the franchise saving goalie, franchise saving coach, 3 more 1st overall picks, Neon Leon the German Gretzky, Darnell “The Body” Nurse, et al. Just walked over a heartless and gutless group in blue who couldn’t get out of bed for an historic game in one of the NHL’s greatest rivalries.

Believe me, we’ve been laughing good, and plan to keep on laughing for years to come.

Keep drinking the Kool-Aid, Oilers fans.

  • Bob's Hockey Stick

Oilers are a bad team , a poorly managed team. They are the worst team in pro sports for the past Decade in Canada. They are the running punchline to bad jokes. In the last decade the Oilers got one thing right. They drafted McJesus. And still they managed to only finish a mere EIGHT points!!!! Eight points better then there previous season….

The Oilers one day might be a relevant team again. But the Flames and Jets will continue to be well ahead of the Oilers.

Hell with Leafs looking to draft either Laine or Mathews even the leafs likely have success sooner then Edmonton.

think about that for a while… let it sink in.

Life for most of Canadian teams looks pretty good. Then there’s the black hole in Edmonton where careers choke and development a fancy word for lazy one dimensional hockey.
