We’re now in the thick of the holiday season and there’s no NHL hockey, but there’s still lots to talk about. The league made a new CBA offer this week, the World Juniors and Spengler Cup are on, and the Toronto Maple Leafs continue to butcher the handling of their top young players.

Not gonna lie to you – not a lot of huge names in these games. There. I was straight up. But there are some great highlights, including one goal I’d put in the conversation for goal of the year in the Ak Bars vs. Neftekhimik game. Enjoy!

EARLY RETURNS: RNH DOMINATES

While it’s probably prudent to curb ones enthusiasm, given Team Canada’s opening game at the World Junior Championship in Russia amounted to little more than a controlled scrimmage against an overmatched opponent, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins gave fans plenty to cheer about in a 9-3 waltz over Germany today.
