The sport gods are smiling down upon us today as the Bombers and the Jets both play today, hours apart! It’s a huge implication game for the Blue as the season draws to a close. It’s a statement game for the Jets, as they can’t afford to let the season slip away before October turns to November. Today’s game is unique from every other game they have played this year, no circus show is expected tonight, just a hockey game. Good.

Jets Fans Advised Patience Due To New NHL Team Syndrome

It's only been 13 days since our Winnipeg Jets have officially returned as a part of the NHL.

After a 5-1 home opening loss to the Montreal Canadiens, few fans could care about an 0-1 record to start the season.

Heck, half the league's teams start off that way anyways.

Then came a close 4-3 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks and their backup goalie 4-3 during their first road game.

Whatever, first road game is always the toughest - playing in front of the other team's crowd for the first time in a season, nerves probably got the better of them.

Nothing Doing For Jets In Ontario

It was another off-night for the Winnipeg Jets in their sixth game of the season.

For the third time in three games the Jets managed to score the opening goal, but for the second time in three games, they did not manage to keep the lead stand up.

Many knew that scoring was an issue for the team last season in Atlanta and this season scoring has also been a problem in the early going.

Jets Fall to Hapless Sens

Coming off a two-goal third period implosion Wednesday night in Toronto, the Winnipeg Jets went into Ottawa looking to escape their brief Ontario road trip with three of a possible four points. The Senators decided to put together their most effective outing of the year Thursday, dominating the Jets, and capturing a 4-1 victory.

Six thoughts 10/20/11 Jets 1-4 Senators

The Jets come into Ottawa after a rough shootout loss the previous night, and make it 0-1-1 on their Ontario mini road-trip, falling to the Senators 4-1.


-Robert Cleave in his Jets Game Day post earlier today noted Craig Anderson's struggles with making stops at even strength, but it appears the Winnipeg Jets were a victim of Anderson's regression. Despite heavily out-shooting and out-chancing the Ottawa Senators at even strength, the Jets were out-goaltended. Again, nothing on Ondrej Pavelec, who didn't have a chance on either of the goals, but another game goes by where the Jets face significantly better goaltending at the other end. Anderson made saves on 35 of 36 Winnipeg shots.
