Just a fair head up before you open this article, these numbers are about as ugly as you would expect them to be following a game like Thursday’s. I’m talking about as ugly as it gets. Probably by some players you like. But hey…enjoy!

Oh no Toby :(
It’s pretty difficult to win hockey games when you spend so much of it in your own end. The Jets had their chances to move the puck down the ice and attack the Kings, but they were simply shut down, out possessed, and simply out classed.

Despite the result, and various lulls throughout the game,
the Jets ended up leading both the possession statistics and the scoring
chances in the end. It was far from the
worst game the Jets have played under Paul Maurice, despite the talk that was
rampant on Twitter afterwards.

This loss was a hard one to swallow. Against an Islander team that has been decimated by injuries and trades came limping into the MTS Center, only to snag a win and leave the Jets sitting point behind Dallas for the final playoff spot.

By this point in time I'm sure you are all aware that the Jets have signed defenseman Mark Stuart to a 4-year, $10.5 million contract. As I'm sure many of you know, I've been more than willingly to express my distaste with a lot of Stuart's play this season. But for right now, I'm going to put that behind me and do my best to defend the extension without using a number at all....or using the words "character" or "shot blocking" as an argument.
