In what can only be described as 'epic' - Robin Brownlee makes his inaugural appearance on NationRadio this week. After 25 episodes of refusing to appear as a guest, the legend vaults right into the big chair taking the reins as the host, filling in for Lowetide who is on a well deserved vacation. And he flipped through his rolodex and booked some pretty spectacular guests.
Not one but TWO Edmonton Oilers are on the show this week as Sam Gagner and Ryan Whitney stop by to say hello. Newly re-signed Oilers play by play man Kevin Quinn comes by too, to put the rumours of a multi-million dollar contract to bed. Oh yeah, and Oilers Head Scout Stu MacGregor? He's here too.
This is some amazing NationRadio.

Of all the players that moved north with the erstwhile Thrashers this summer, the one gent whose presence seems to elict the most interesting range of reactions is Dustin Byfuglien. The Warroad native had a breakout offensive season after being dealt to Atlanta, but suspicions remained regarding how much of that success was gifted by percentages and circumstance.

Recently, writer Ryan Batty posted an interesting article on www.coppernblue.com that argued the merit of the rivalry between the Winnipeg Jets and the Edmonton Oilers. It’s well founded and I have to agree with most of the information he put forward. That being said, I disagree with his conclusion, there was a rivalry and perhaps there will be again.

Earlier in the summer, I took a look at ways that the Winnipeg Jets could improve their win-loss record with changes in systems from the front-office to the coaching staff and not necessarily on-ice personnel, in the model of the 2011 Tampa Bay Lightning.
