In today's installment, we'll put the seven current locks for the club's top nine under the microscope.

The Capitals have the undeniable poster boy that is Alex Ovechkin. The Panthers have a charismatic vet in Ed Jovanoski. The Lightning have one of the league’s top work horses in Dominic Moore. And the Huricannes have a one-man double-threat — half sniper, half heartthrob — with Jeff Skinner.

But what about the Southeast Division’s newest addition – which Jet will emerge as the fan favourite in Winnipeg?

The overrated value of a faceoff

Every so often, an analyst will talk about how a certain player deserved a "three star" nominee because he won two or three big faceoffs. Even more so often a coach will send out two centremen in a high-leverage situation to win a key, late draw. The question is whether this tactic has a tangible value.
