After spending a couple of years in St. John's, Newfoundland, the baby Jets have found their way home. Well, sort of; they've yet to play their first game back in Winnipeg, but the new Manitoba Moose hit the ice for the first time today, taking on the Toronto Marlies in the AHL's opening night. Unfortunately for them, it didn't go as they were hoping for, as they lost 5-3 to their hosts.

The Winnipeg Jets have no time to waste, as they will right back in action tonight after an impressive 6-2 season opening win against the Boston Bruins last night.
It was a slow start for the Jets last night in Boston, but they dominated the last 40 minutes of the game. They'll look to keep that momentum going tonight and spoil the Devils home and season opener tonight in New Jersey and start the season 2-0.

Alex Burmistrov's return to the National Hockey League nearly began on a sour note Thursday night.
The Jets forward delivered a questionable shoulder check to the head of Bruins star Patrice Bergeron in the closing minutes of the opening period, which drew a two-minute minor penalty.
According to Bruins beat writer Joe Haggerty, Burmistrov was immediately apologetic and won't face any further discipline for the check.

It was not pretty, but it's a tick in the win column. The Winnipeg Jets start off the season right with a win, getting goals from the top to the bottom of their lineup. They won't have long to wait as the Jets continue their travels with another game tomorrow against the New Jersey Devils.
Let's break the game down.
