The Jets are on an incredible roll right now. Since Paul Maurice took over the bench a little more than two weeks ago, they've won six of their last seven games, grinding out victories against some of the league's best in Anaheim and Chicago. Goals are coming easy, Pavelec's numbers have improved, and fan optimism is at a season high.

Confidence is infectious.

Especially when the leader of the troops is emitting it as much as Ron Hainsey used to give the puck away (Sorry Ron).

But the Winnipeg Jets are more than confident crossing the .500 percentage threshold.

                                                         Go, Staurt!

Hockey is a weird sport sometimes.

After two periods, the Jets looked finished. Outshot 27-6, they looked in danger of falling beneath their season-low shot total of 14. Their only powerplay came off of a Chicago bench minor. No line could spend any amount of time in the offensive zone. Patrick Kane sifted through two-man coverage at will, and Al Montoya had to stand on his head to keep the score close.

Before they could celebrate their OT home win against the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Jets were back on a plane bound for Chicago, getting ready to face the Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks for the fourth (and thankfully last) time this season. The 'Hawks have manhandled the Jets all season long like they were Division 5, but tonight may be a different story.

Jets Post-Game 53: On the CBC

The Jets put on a terrific performance for a national audience, showing their speed down the wings, their size along the boards, and their top-6 talent on the scoresheet. A couple bad goals that will send Travis over the moon in his Pavelec Performance Tracker put the contest into overtime, but it didn't take away from the dizzying joy of beating the Leafs.
