This won't go down as the prettiest win in the short history of the Winnipeg Jets but they'll take the victories any which way they can. After nearly blowing an early 3-0 lead, the Jets defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 6-4 at the MTS Centre.

JGD 29: Jets Play Host to Columbus Blue Jackets

The Jets will look to get back into the win column tonight as they take on the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight at MTS Centre. 

This will be the second and final meeting between these two teams. The first meeting was a 3-2 Jets win back on October 31 in Columbus. Bryan Little, Andrew Copp and Blake Wheeler had the goals for the Jets. Brandon Saad and Scott Hartnell scored for the Jackets.

Drew Stafford and Tyler Myers 300 days later

It's been just over 300 days since Kevin Cheveldayoff sent shockwaves throughout the hockey world as the Winnipeg Jets swapped Evander Kane, Zach Bogosian, and Jason Kasdorf for the Buffalo Sabres' Tyler Myers, Drew Stafford, Joel Armia, Brendan Lemieux, and a first round pick (which turned into Jack Roslovic).

The trade was generally considered a great one. The Jets received a piece that could help them in a playoff push for an injured forward that was well on his way out anyways. They also swapped underperforming big-minute, right-shot defenders but garnered the one on a more small-market friendly contract.

There was however some red flags with both players. Neither Tyler Myers nor Drew Stafford excelled in the shot metrics, and there were signs that their production was unsustainable and unlikely to repeat. Some hoped that small sample size or a lack of training camp with the Jets could be a leading factor.

With nearly equal samples both this and last season, let's look at how the two have progressed.

Nikolaj Ehlers world junior bound? It wouldn't hurt

Not long ago Nikolaj Ehlers was being mentioned as an early candidate for the Calder Trophy.

The Jets winger turned a lot of heads after beginning his promising NHL career netting four goals and nine points through 14 games. But since being moved to the third line — paired with Alex Burmistrov and Chris Thorburn — Ehlers' offence has all but vanished with just one goal in the last 19 games.

The question now is, should the Jets consider lending Ehlers to Denmark for the upcoming IIHF World Junior Championship?
