What was three, is now four.
The Winnipeg Jets hosted the Washington Capitals in what was both a fun and stressful game to watch for fans.
Chances were about even through the first two periods but Ondrej Pavelec out played Braden Holtby, with Pavelec stopping 28 shots for the shutout. Mark Stuart scored the game winning goal in the first, with Mark Scheifele getting the second for a two point night.
The Capitals pressed hard in the third with the Jets collapsing intensely around the net. Score effects took over and the Caps heavily shelled the Jets in the third with shots from the outside to no avail. Pavelec held on strong and Adam Lowry rang a short handed goal nearly full length of the ice away with Holtby pulled for the extra man.
Let's break it down.

The wild-card race in the Western Conference is heating up but the Winnipeg Jets aren't buckling under the immense pressure.
The red-hot Jets will search for a fourth-consecutive victory when they host the Washington Capitals on Saturday night.
With 11 games remaining in the regular season, the Jets (36-23-12) hold the second wild-card spot with 84 points -- two ahead of the Los Angeles Kings.
"We expect it to be tight all the way to the end," Jets defenceman Tyler Myers told the Winnipeg Free Press. "We're a team that believes we can do some damage in the playoffs."
The Capitals (39-23-10), also winners of their last three games, sit in the second wild-card spot with 88 points.

Make it three in a row!
The Winnipeg Jets beat the St. Louis Blues in the cointoss after a game that was a dominant effort by the Jets, where Brian Elliot and the post were the only things keeping the Blues in the game.
The game started with a tight checking and scoreless first period, with neither team holding a major advantage over the other.
This all changed in the second. The Jets dominated in terms of scoring chances and puck possession, but Elliott kept on stopping everything the Jets threw at him. David Backes then opened up the scoring from a nice cross-ice feed by Paul Statsny.
The Jets continued pressing into the third after what could have been a disheartening moment. Their diligence paid off with Drew Stafford scoring on a backhand about midway in the third.
With nothing solved in overtime, the Jets moved to the shootout. Goals from Drew Stafford and Andrew Ladd with Ondrej Pavelec stopping two of three ultimately gave Jets the win.
Let's break it down.
