Paul Maurice, as reported by Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun, stated that Ondrej Pavelec has suffered a "significant knee sprain" and the Jets are not anticipating a return until January or February.
The Jets in turn have called up goaltender prospect extraordinaire Connor Hellebuyck from the Manitoba Moose.
While no one wishes (or at least should wish) ill on another human being, there is a silver-lining to the cloud though with the Jets goaltending may actually improve with this exchange.

The Winnipeg Jets website announced that the Jets have called up 6'3 winger Joel Armia while placing Ondrej Pavelec on IR. Armia was part of the package the Buffalo Sabres constructed as return for Evander Kane, Zach Bogosian, and Jason Kasdorf.

The Winnipeg Jets have recalled goaltender Connor Hellebuyck from the Manitoba Moose, the organization announced on Sunday.
It's not a surprising roster maneuver, as usual Jets starter Ondrej Pavelec sustained an apparent injury when he was violently run by Arizona Coyotes forward Shane Doan on Saturday night. Pavelec reportedly left the MTS centre on crutches.
Though Hellebuyck is untested at the NHL level, it will be extremely interesting to see what he can do as part of a goalie tandem with Michael Hutchinson.

The Jets struggled early in the game especially with special teams as they gave up a couple of first period power play goals to fall behind. They didn't panic however and stuck to their physical gameplan and rallied in the last two periods to beat the Arizona Coyotes 3-2.
That's a little more like it!
