The NHL trade deadline clock continues to click and Andrew Ladd is still the captain of the Winnipeg Jets.
But for how long?
Ladd — a pending UFA — is expected to be traded by Monday's deadline as the Jets continue to drop out of playoff contention.
“Everyone in the room understood right from the start of the year it was a possibility it was going to get to this point,” Tyler Myers told the Winnipeg Sun regarding Ladd's contract situation. “Four or five days left here, we'll wait and see what happens. But either way, I don't think any guy in the room will say a bad thing about Andrew Ladd. He's had a huge impact on me even in the short time I've been here."
The Jets will have to put all that aside for the time being as they look to snap a four-game winless skid against the Dallas Stars tonight.

When someone from work is having a going away bash, usually there's some tears, some laughs and a few too many beverages of the alcoholic variety consumed. On Andrew Ladd's farewell bash, the Jets played like they imbibed too much early on, recovered but as per usual too late in a 5-3 loss to the Dallas Stars that left the paid customers at the MTS Centre in tears.
