It was not pretty, but it's a tick in the win column. The Winnipeg Jets start off the season right with a win, getting goals from the top to the bottom of their lineup. They won't have long to wait as the Jets continue their travels with another game tomorrow against the New Jersey Devils.

The Winnipeg Jets are back in action for a new season. The Jets will open the 2015-2016 hockey year in Boston against a Zdeno Chara-less Bruins.
The new season also offers a fresh start for the two teams, one that missed the playoffs while the other went without a single postseason win.

The regular season is just over the horizon. Most teams have made the final touches to their roster and practicing in the lines we'll see for the start of the season.

When the Winnipeg Jets entered the NHL in 2011, the organization was going to use the draft and develop method to build the team. It makes perfect sense for two reasons. Winnipeg will never be a "go-to" destination for free agents and the revenue generated by True North is limited compared to big markets like New York, Chicago and Toronto. (I know, there is a salary cap but the Jets will never max out on the cap. Small market doesn't allow maximum use of cap.)
