News and Analysis: Laine named NHL's First Star of the Week

After recording eight points (five goals and three assists) in four games, the NHL named Patrik Laine the league's first star of the week.

Three of those goals came against the Dallas Stars on February 14th when Laine recorded a hat trick on home ice to help the Jets defeat the Stars 5-2.

The Jets are faced with a difficult task to kickstart their four-game Eastern Conference road trip. 

Tonight, Winnipeg will face off against a Pittsburgh team that hopes to have one of their own join elite company. With a single point tonight, Sidney Crosby will reach the prestigious 1,000 point plateau. The opportunity to reach such a milestone on home-ice will certainly bring upon a motivated Crosby and that's the last thing the Jets want to face off against.
